One of our oldest clients is Chapman Group, based in Todmorden. They are the largest stockholder of corduroy and moleskin in Europe and epitomise Todmorden’s heritage. By the mid-1800s Todmorden was a thriving town with a canal infrastructure, turnpike roads and a railway station on the Manchester – Leeds line. In 1907 Mons Mill, a massive steam-powered cotton spinning mill, was constructed in the town. Made of Accrington Red Brick, it stood seven stories tall. Like many mills, Mons Mill stopped production by 1968.
